Linda DeLuca, of Southington CT, will be exhibiting her paintings at The Gallery at The Orchards February 1 - 28, 2018.
The title of her show is "From Place to Place". Linda has been painting in acrylics for over 40 years and has an MA in Art Education from CCSU. She has traveled extensively and used this experience as an inspiration for many of her paintings. Linda is past President of the Southington Arts & Crafts Association and is on the board of the Southington Cultural Community Arts Center where she maintains a studio open to the public during business hours.

Member: Lucy DiMeo -Artist of the Month at Southington Library
Lucy DiMeo was born in Poland. Her family moved to the United States in 1961 settling in Connecticut.
Ms. DiMeo has made Cheshire her home for the last 40 years. She always had an interest in art and enjoys to oil paint anything that moves her emotionally. For many years Lucy has taken classes at Art’s Place in Cheshire where she currently studies. She is a long standing member of the Cheshire Art League and has entered many art shows sponsored by that organization. A recent award received at the Cheshire Art League Visual Arts Exhibit was the “Friends of Cheshire Performing Fine Arts Award”.
Visit the Gallery at the Library while the exhibit is on display during the normal business hours of the library, Monday through Thursday 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Friday and Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The Gallery is located on the main level near the Café. Ball & Socket Arts invites you to paint the historic 150 year old Ball & Socket Factory building and the surrounding sights of lovely West Cheshire. And stroll the scenic Farmington Canal Heritage Trail Cheshire Ct, across the street, and enjoy the wooded landscape and quiet natural beauty.
THIS IS A FREE EVENT
We welcome artists of all ages and skill levels!
Paint hours from 9am-12pm on the following dates:
-July 16 (to coincide with a Summer Art Market event. Parking behind Pop's Pizza, registration at B&SA table)
Please do not set-up within 10 feet of factory building AND use discretion if setting up near busy sidewalks and Walking Trail.
-Artist set-up is 8:30 am.
-All Plein Air artists have the option to donate their work to B&SA for their Fall Art Auction.
-Reserved Artist Parking and Registration located in the Elle Salon & Spa, 471 W. Main St, parking lot (Willow St. entrance). Spillover parking up Willow St on right in our upper lot. Lot attendant will be there to assist.
-Representatives from B&SA and Artsplace Cheshire will be present during events to assist artists and monitor parking.
-Painters will receive a complimentary beverage voucher from Main Street Caffe, 209 W. Main St, to be redeemed the day of their visit.
-Special announcements including cancellations due to inclement weather will be announced on this event page as well as Plein Air Event Installment 2-4 pages.
-Artist RSVP on this page not necessary, but appreciated.
-EVENT IS FREE TO THE PUBLIC! Come and observe the painters as they work.

Member: Tony Falcone's Sculpture of Otto Graham
The ribbon-cutting ceremony of the Otto Graham Hall of Athletic Excellence located at the US Coast Guard Academy in New London, CT.
The new museum features Tony's first sculpture commission of his career, a bronze portrait bust of Otto Graham, and it is the focal point of this facility dedicated to Leadership through Athletics located within the US Coast Guard Academy. Besides Otto Graham (NFL Hall of Famer and Football Coach of the USCG), it boasts other great athletes and leaders such as golfer, Arnold Palmer; boxer, Jack Dempsey; and astronaut, Bruce Melnick.
